Why pants for dogs

Cummerbunds and panties are important products for dog owners vexed by hard-to-train, unaltered or incontinent dogs. They help owners control dog urination and prevent household accidents because of marking, incontinence or lack of training. They are perfect for travelers who want to let their dogs run free in hotel rooms or in someone else's home.

How to use them

Our cummerbunds and panties are simple and easy to use.

The cummerbunds are made in strips long enough to wrap around a dog's belly. Owners place an adult sanitary napkin or diaper in the band, wrap it strategically around the dog's belly and Velcro shut. The exterior is made with washable cotton; the interior is lined with moisture-control fabric. Unlike some bands, which have elastic sides that some dogs find irritating, Pants for Dogs' have straight sides with an extra layer of cotton trim to prevent chafing for a finished, professional look.

The panties for girls follow the same concept. They look like baby pants with a hole for the tail. Pretty cotton fabric outside, soft cotton flannel or microfleece inside to prevent chafing. There is room in the interior for a napkin/diaper under the tail hole. There is elastic around the legs for a snug fit, and the pants Velcro around with a ruffled waistband.

How to measure for sizing

Measure the "waist" area of the dog -- where the bands or panties would Velcro shut around the dog -- and match your measurement with the sizes listed. The sizing -- because of the Velcro -- allows for ample flexibility and a perfect fit.

A male dog wears the size that measures 6 inches longer than his "waist." For example, if your male dog's midsection is 16 inches around, he would wear a medium cummberbund. That allows at least 6 inches for the pad, the ends of the band to overlap and Velcro to attach.

If a girl dog's midsection is 17 inches, she would most likely wear a small. Again, that would leave ample room to overlap the Velcro waistband.
